About By Landmark

By Landmark Hospitality is a founder-led, vertically integrated hospitality company operating 15+ restaurants, event venues, and boutique hotels across New Jersey and Pennsylvania — including Liberty House, The Ryland Inn, the Felina restaurants, Logan Inn, and The Albion Summit. For more than two decades, we have built our reputation on the adaptive reuse of iconic properties and on creating guest experiences the rest of the industry tries to copy.

Our team members are Memorymakers”. The name is not decorative — it shapes how we evaluate every decision, every shift, and every guest interaction. Through the Art of Hospitality Workers Alliance, we invest in our people, our craft, and the communities around our properties in ways most hospitality groups don't.

The Role

The Area Partner is a senior operational leader responsible for the financial performance, guest experience, and people leadership of a defined portfolio of Landmark properties — a deliberate mix of restaurants, event venues, and boutique hotels. This is a builder's role: you will set the operating rhythm, develop the General Managers, protect the brand at every property, and own the P&L outcomes.

You will report directly to Jeanne Cretella, President of By Landmark Hospitality, with a seat in the senior operating conversations that shape where the company goes next.

What You'll Own

Operations & Financial Performance

  • Full P&L ownership across your portfolio — revenue growth, cost discipline, EBITDA
  • Annual operating plans, budgets, and rolling forecasts, built in partnership with each General Manager
  • Consistent execution of Landmark standards across rooms, F&B, banquets and private events, service, and facilities
  • KPI ownership: sales, labor, prime cost, RevPAR/ADR where applicable, banquet conversion, guest satisfaction, retention
  • Margin and productivity initiatives, including labor optimization and demand-based scheduling
  • Partnership with Culinary and Beverage leadership on menu execution, product quality, and cost control

Hotels, Events, and Restaurants — All Three

  • Hotel operations: rooms performance, front-of-house service, F&B-in-hotel integration, capital planning, and facilities oversight
  • Event venues: BEO discipline, banquet conversion, group sales partnership, on-property activation, and post-event review
  • Restaurants: menu execution, beverage program, service standards, and throughput

Leadership & People Development

  • Direct leadership of General Managers and senior property leaders within your portfolio
  • Clear performance expectations, regular coaching, structured reviews, and active succession planning
  • Visible field presence — you will be where the work is, not behind a desk
  • Honest, well-timed conversations when they are warranted; you don't avoid conflict, you use it to make the team better
  • Partnership with HR on recruiting, onboarding, retention, and employee relations
  • Identification and active sponsorship of high-potential leaders across the portfolio

Guest Experience & Brand Stewardship

  • Senior ambassador for Landmark with guests, clients, repeat patrons, and community partners
  • Oversight of service standards, training programs, and hospitality programming across the portfolio
  • Partnership with Sales & Marketing on private events, activations, and revenue-driving initiatives
  • Direct involvement in escalated guest situations — thoughtful, fast, and well-resolved

Strategic Execution & Growth

  • Operational leadership and stabilization support for new restaurant, venue, and hotel openings
  • Partnership with corporate teams on system rollouts and process improvements
  • Contribution to long-term portfolio strategy alongside Jeanne and the senior team
  • Compliance across federal, NJ, and PA labor, safety, and licensing requirements

Who We're Looking For

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive hospitality operations experience, with at least 5 years in a multi-unit leadership role
  • Multi-unit portfolio experience that includes at least one boutique hotel or high-volume events venue (this is not a restaurant-only role)
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and a track record of driving financial outcomes in high-volume environments
  • Direct experience leading and developing General Managers and senior property operators
  • Strong analytical fluency — you can read the P&L, the labor report, and the guest scores, and translate what you see into action
  • Energized by founder-led, fast-moving environments where you are building the playbook, not just enforcing it
  • Comfort with the operating reality of hospitality leadership: evenings, weekends, peak holidays, and new openings

Preferred

  • Experience overseeing a portfolio that includes restaurants, event venues, and hotels in combination
  • Track record of opening and stabilizing new properties
  • Working knowledge of Restaurant365, Toast, Paycom, TripleSeat, Opera, or comparable hospitality systems
  • Familiarity with the New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania hospitality markets
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field — or the equivalent in operating experience

How You Operate

The Area Partners who succeed at Landmark are independent operators who advocate for their ideas, persuasive leaders who build energy in a room, and detail-conscious executors who never let standards slip. You are comfortable with conflict when it serves the business, energized by variety and change, and meticulous about the operating fundamentals that protect the brand.

Scope & Logistics

  • Field-based role based in New Hope, PA (Bucks County) covering Landmark properties across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, most within a 90-minute radius of our Plainfield, NJ headquarters
  • Approximately 60–70% time in market with your properties and General Managers
  • Occasional headquarters presence in Plainfield, NJ
  • Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the rhythm of hospitality

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based bonus tied to portfolio EBITDA and guest satisfaction
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Dining privileges across all Landmark properties
  • Professional development and a defined growth path within a growing portfolio
  • Direct participation in the Art of Hospitality Workers Alliance and our community impact initiatives
