Area Manager Engineering

Location Cleveland OHCleveland-Cliffs is seeking an experienced Area Manager Engineering to provide the services necessary to manage direct and support Capital Projects at our Cleveland Works facility. The Area Manager Engineering will lead the team of Project Engineers in the management of capital projects in Cleveland and assist with plant OPEX projects.Summary of ResponsibilitiesImplement and effectively utilize Cleveland-Cliffs safety standards and practices and conform to Cleveland-Cliffs environmental requirementsProvide strong technical leadership in the development execution and startup of capital projects in all areas of the Cleveland Works including the primary and finishing areasAssist the plant project engineering team in development of the yearly Capital Plans as well as the monthly forecasting of projectsManage the annual capital planManage and prioritize resources to ensure capital projects are completed safely and efficientlyRoutine reporting both written and verbalOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications Engineering degree with a background in engineering design procurement construction andor maintenance or equivalent experienceAt least ten 10 years of first-hand experience in project management of major capital projects in heavy industry with a proven track record of successful project schedule and budget executionExtensive experience with heavy equipment operations and maintenance in an industrial situationExtensive experience with major project scheduling and project cost controlStrong understanding of corporate and industry practices processes and standards their impact on project related activities and the importance of compliance with generally accepted best practices and company engineering standardsExceptional technical written communication skillsAbility to perform the engineering management duties well under pressureAbility and willingness to travel to all company facilities to both provide and receive technical support as needed or requestedPreferred Qualifications10 plus years of experience with managing project engineersExtensive experience with all steel-related operations and maintenance preferably in a managerial role.Extensive experience with major project scheduling and project cost controlPMP or equivalent project management certification or a willingness to obtain this certification within 12 months of onboardingRelocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 155000 to 200000.
