Midsouth Aggregates, part of CRH’s South Division, is a leading supplier of quality aggregates in the Southeastern U.S., with operations in Alabama, southern Tennessee, Georgia and the Florida Panhandle. Working with government agencies, private contractors, counties and municipalities, we produce millions of tons of quality construction materials and pave many miles of highways every year. Our highly skilled workforce strives to deliver the highest quality products and services in a safe, timely and efficient manner, on every project.  Mid-South Aggregates is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and an E-Verify Participant.

We’re seeking a results-driven Area Manager to lead a portfolio of aggregates operations—owning safety, production performance, and team development across multiple sites.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in the field and enjoys driving both daily execution and long-term operational success. You’ll lead teams, optimize plant performance, and play a key role in delivering results in a business where safety, reliability, and efficiency matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead multi-site operations, overseeing plants, equipment, and frontline teams
  • Drive production, uptime, and operational efficiency across your region
  • Identify and execute capital projects, including planning, vendor coordination, and implementation
  • Analyze financial performance and implement action plans to improve results
  • Partner cross-functionally with maintenance, logistics, sales, and leadership teams
  • Ensure all operations meet quality, delivery, and cost performance expectations

Safety & Compliance

Safety is foundational to how we operate. In this role, you will:

  • Lead a strong safety culture where employees are engaged and accountable
  • Conduct and support safety initiatives, meetings, and field engagement
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable MSHA, DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations
  • Promote and implement company-wide Safety, Health & Environmental programs

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build and develop high-performing teams across supervisors and frontline leaders
  • Coach, mentor, and support ongoing employee development and career growth
  • Lead hiring, performance management, and workforce planning efforts
  • Foster accountability through clear expectations, feedback, and recognition
  • Drive results through effective delegation, planning, and team alignment

What You Bring

  • Experience leading plant or multi-site operations (aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix, or similar industry)
  • Strong track record of delivering safety, operational, and financial results
  • Ability to lead through others and build strong, engaged teams
  • Experience managing or supporting capital projects
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to influence across teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience (10+ years)
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across assigned operations

Additional Expectations

  • Willingness to travel and support operations as needed, including nights or weekends
  • Maintain strong relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and the community
  • Operate with professionalism, accountability, and a team-first mindset

Why Join Us

  • Lead operations that directly impact production and business performance
  • Gain visibility with senior leadership and influence key decisions
  • Opportunity to grow into broader operational leadership roles
  • Be part of a team focused on safety, performance, and continuous improvement

What CRH Offers You

  • Highly competitive base pay
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs
  • Group retirement savings program
  • Health and wellness programs
  • An inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion
