Role Overview Area General Manager - Food | Rahway, NJ

The Area General Manager leads a vibrant, multi‑unit corporate dining operation across the Rahway Campus and Dakin House, delivering an exceptional guest experience built on culinary excellence, hospitality, and innovation. This role oversees café, catering, and executive hospitality services while cultivating strong client partnerships and shaping a dynamic, modern food program that reflects the expectations of a premier Global Strategic Account.

As this client is part of a Global Strategic Account, the Area GM plays a critical role in upholding elevated standards, aligning with global operating frameworks, and ensuring a seamless, world‑class service experience across both locations.

The Area GM drives financial performance, inspires and develops diverse teams, and ensures flawless execution across all service areas. This includes operational oversight, talent development, client relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives that advance both Sodexo and client goals. This role calls for a strategic, hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation environment and is passionate about elevating workplace dining through creativity, operational excellence, and a commitment to outstanding service.

What Youll Do

  • Lead daily operations across multiple corporate dining venues, ensuring exceptional service, culinary excellence, and a consistently elevated guest experience.
  • Build and maintain strong client partnerships by communicating proactively, anticipating needs, and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Inspire, develop, and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and strategic operational planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with Sodexo standards, food safety regulations, and all operational policies across the entire dining program.
  • Champion innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance menus, service models, and overall program quality in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation environment.
