Position Summary:

In this role as an Area Clinician Support Specialist (ACSS), you will lead and manage a team of Clinician Support Specialists (CSS). CSS team members support physicians and other clinicians by assisting with medication reviews, taking vital signs, documenting care, scheduling, and other key clinical support duties. Many CSS professionals have a Medical Assistant background, and a similar clinical foundation is essential for this leadership role.

As an ACSS, you will serve as the primary liaison between leadership and the CSS team. You will provide guidance, coaching, and first-level employee support while ensuring high-quality patient care practices. Key responsibilities include training team members, conducting workflow assessments, supporting clinical operations, and serving as the primary point of contact for provider support staff across the care team. You will also be responsible for monitoring team engagement and identifying opportunities to improve performance and processes.

In your supervisory capacity, and in partnership with HR and organizational leadership, you will support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing development of CSS team members. You will act as both a resource and a leader for your local team.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, you may also function as a Clinician Support Specialist as needed to ensure continuity of care and operational excellence.

CSS team members may support one or multiple facilities and work in both in-person and remote environments, assisting clinicians who provide care within long-term care settings.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Full-time position, generally Monday–Friday, day shift
  • Hybrid work model (in-person and remote)

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular travel throughout the assigned area is required
  • Travel typically includes facility visits, team support, and meetings (2–3 days per week in some cases)
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Travel expenses are reimbursed per company policy
  • Reliable personal transportation is required; travel distances may exceed 60 miles at times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that CSS are supporting assigned clinical providers so they can focus on taking care of their patient’s day-to-day.
  • Ensure that CSS are scheduling each patient to be seen in accordance with policy.  
  • Empower CSS to serve as a point of contact between provider and families/staff to facilitate proper patient management.  Follow up with any requests from families or staff at facilities.
  • Ensure CSS document appropriate encounter and time for CCM and BHI services in accordance with policy.
  • As needed, oversee CSS scheduling, updating of rosters, consenting of patients, and gathering of demographic and insurance information via facesheets.
  • Ensure all needs in your geography are successfully covered
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and retention process of CSS as needed.
  • Assist with new hire and ongoing training of CSS's. 
  • Quality Assurance of the CSS teams work including coaching, training, and conducting Corrective Action.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • More than 50% of the position will include administrative and personnel management of assigned CSS's including performance reviews.
  • ACSS and their teams are expected to be knowledgeable and adhere to Eventus WholeHealth standards, policies and procedures and outlined in employee handbook including HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant strongly preferred
  • Typing speed of 45wpm or greater
  • Medical Scribing experience preferred
