Area Business Manager (ABM) – Manufacturing Business Development
Location: Missouri (Western, Central, or Eastern Region) Position Type: Full-Time

Missouri Enterprise is seeking an Area Business Manager (ABM) to work directly with manufacturers across Missouri. This is a consultative business development role focused on helping manufacturers identify opportunities for growth, improve performance, and connect with resources that drive measurable results.
As an ABM, you will serve as a trusted advisor to manufacturing leaders, helping them address challenges related to workforce development, operational excellence, leadership, quality, maintenance, automation, and business growth. You will be supported by a team of experienced project managers and subject matter experts who help deliver solutions for your clients.
To better serve manufacturers throughout the state, we are expanding our team in Missouri's Western, Central, and Eastern regions. Applicants must reside in Missouri or near the Missouri border.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturing leaders throughout your assigned territory
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and in-person visits
- Conduct on-site meetings to understand client challenges and opportunities
- Connect manufacturers with solutions that improve profitability, productivity, workforce performance, and overall business results
- Collaborate with Missouri Enterprise project managers and technical experts to develop customized solutions
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales process and maintain a healthy pipeline
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities
- Represent Missouri Enterprise at industry events, trade shows, and community functions
What We're Looking For
- Experience in business development, account management, consultative sales, or manufacturing leadership
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Ability to engage decision-makers and build trust with clients
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline is preferred
- Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
