Olson Kundig is a design practice founded on the ideas that buildings can serve as a bridge between nature, culture, and people, and that inspiring surroundings have a positive effect on people’s lives. The firm’s work can be found across the globe, with projects as wide-ranging as huts to high rises, homes - often for art collectors - to academic, cultural, and civic projects, museums and exhibition design, places of worship, creative production, urban design, and interior design.

We are seeking an Architectural Designer II to support the design, planning, and documentation of projects of moderate size and complexity.  In this role, you’ll contribute to creative design solutions, technical development, and project delivery while working closely with more senior team members in a collective, design-focused environment.

You’ll join a team where curiosity, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency help shape thoughtful work and support your growth as a designer.

  • Project Support and Documentation:
Review, compile, and prepare project specifications, construction documents, and technically related building components and details. Independently execute as well as support aspects of the construction administration process.
  • Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members and contribute to accurate, high-quality project delivery.
  • Project Communications and Presentations:
Take on aspects of external project communications and prepare presentations with subconsultants and clients, with support from senior team members.
  • Additional duties and projects:
    As assigned or necessary.

Qualifications

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and consultants.
  • Technical Ability: Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize an architectural drawing set.
  • Work Style: Ability to manage multiple tasks with urgency in a fast-paced, creative, and dynamic environment.
