Accounts Receivable Analyst Contractor
Our client, a high-growth organization, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst to support collections, cash application, and customer account management during a period of expansion.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule in San Francisco, CA; however, remote candidates will be considered. This engagement has an expected duration of 6 months with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end collections activities for an assigned customer portfolio
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize outreach to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
- Communicate with customers to resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer accounts and maintain strong professional relationships
- Process and apply customer payments accurately across multiple payment channels
- Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and account discrepancies
- Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accuracy of AR balances
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and billing issues
- Process adjustments, credit memos, and refunds in accordance with policies
- Prepare AR reports, including aging and collection performance metrics
- Support cash forecasting by providing insight into expected collections
- Identify trends and recommend improvements to AR processes and workflows
- Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or related finance roles
- Strong understanding of AR processes, including collections, cash application, and dispute resolution
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- Proficiency in Excel and the ability to work with large datasets
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads with strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
