Accounts Receivable Analyst Contractor

Our client, a high-growth organization, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst to support collections, cash application, and customer account management during a period of expansion. 

This position follows a hybrid work schedule in San Francisco, CA; however, remote candidates will be considered. This engagement has an expected duration of 6 months with the possibility of extension. 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end collections activities for an assigned customer portfolio
  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize outreach to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Communicate with customers to resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer accounts and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Process and apply customer payments accurately across multiple payment channels
  • Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and account discrepancies
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accuracy of AR balances
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and billing issues
  • Process adjustments, credit memos, and refunds in accordance with policies
  • Prepare AR reports, including aging and collection performance metrics
  • Support cash forecasting by providing insight into expected collections
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to AR processes and workflows
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or related finance roles
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, including collections, cash application, and dispute resolution
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
