What is needed for this job:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 21+ years of age
- 2+ years of experience with current ARC Lifeguard/Water Park, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Administering Emergency Oxygen and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification with 2 years of related experience
- 2+ years experience in fitness, recreation management, or similar
- 2+ years experience managing 50+ team members
- 2+ years experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and budgets
- Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns
- Ability to use water chemistry test kit
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Provide leadership in the delivery of quality within the YMCA aquatic department
- Monitor all programs and staff in the pool assigned
- Ensure program quality and monitor staff performance and member service
- Ensure the swimming facility is meeting or exceeding the Aquatic Safety Standards
- Facilitate monthly in-service meetings that include skill review
- Supervise staff and ensure appropriate staffing of pool
- Develop high quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness that meet the needs of the community
- Ensure quality program delivery by certified staff and effective use of resources including staffing
- Ensure safety and prevent injuries by supervising pool area
- Administer first aid to victims using OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Universal Precautions until Emergency Medical Service arrives
- Maintain current certifications and physical fitness
- Communicate all pool rules and ensure that you are accessible and identifiable
- Maintain pool logs, incident/accident reports, locker room checks and other documents as required
- Perform pool maintenance duties in accordance with OSHA Hazardous Materials Precautions. Perform water quality testing
- May be required to pursue POOL Operator or CPO certification and backwash pool filtration system and monitor pool chemicals
- May be required to pursue PA Department of Agriculture Category 24 Pesticide Applicator or Technician certification
