CITY OF GREENBELT, MD CLASS SPECIFICATION Aquatics Coordinator I (Grade 10)– Starting Salary - $66,892 The City of Greenbelt, MD, a progressive and diverse community of 21,000, is looking for an energetic and resourceful person to work at the Greenbelt Aquatics and Fitness Center (GAFC) as an Aquatics Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and implementing aquatic and fitness programs and activities at the GAFC. The role includes supervising staff—such as Fitness Attendants, Personal Trainers, Water Exercise Instructors, Lifeguard, Pool Managers, and Customer Service Representatives—as well as overseeing the daily operations, activities, and programs conducted within the GAFC. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a closely related field, along with one year of progressively responsible experience in an aquatic facility. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Candidates must possess a Prince George’s County Pool Operator’s License and hold current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. An American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred. In addition, an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification, or an equivalent credential, is required within three months of employment. |
