Municipal Invoice Scams: The City of Lewiston has been made aware of fraudulent invoices that closely mimic official City of Lewiston correspondence. These fraudulent emails often include invoices with the City seal and staff names and ask recipients to pay for the invoice. Residents and businesses are advised that legitimate City correspondence will only originate from an official ".gov" email address. If you receive a suspicious invoice or communication, do not respond or remit payment and contact the City staffer or mis@lewistonmaine.gov directly to verify its authenticity.
