Job Description:Apptio/TBM ConsultantLocation: RemotePosition OverviewAn experienced IBM Apptio / Technology Business Management (TBM) Consultant is sought to support an engagement within a large, controlled enterprise environment. The consultant will drive cost transparency, model configuration, and financial governance initiatives, partnering closely with senior Finance and Technology stakeholders to deliver measurable FinOps outcomes.Key Responsibilities * Design, configure, and maintain IBM Apptio TBM cost models including service-based cost allocation frameworks, governance structures, and reconciliation workflows. * Lead cost transparency initiatives across multi-tier IT environments, translating business requirements into well-controlled, supportable Apptio solutions. * Facilitate cost-model design workshops with senior Finance and Technology stakeholders, driving alignment on allocation methodologies and reporting standards. * Perform Excel-based reconciliation and financial analysis to validate model outputs against source data and general ledger. * Support production operations including ongoing governance, model tuning, and monthly/quarterly close activities. * Develop and maintain documentation for cost models, allocation logic, and operational runbooks. * Deliver transparent, auditable finance outcomes aligned to FinOps Foundation best practices.Required Qualifications * Strong IBM Apptio (TBM) practitioner with deep expertise in cost transparency, model configuration, allocations, and production operations including governance and reconciliation. * Demonstrated experience designing and enhancing service-based cost models in large, regulated enterprise environments. * Ability to partner with and translate requirements from senior Finance and Technology stakeholders. * Experience facilitating cost-model design workshops and supporting well-governed finance outcomes. * Advanced Excel skills for complex formulaic logic, reconciliation, and large dataset handling. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive audiences.Preferred Qualifications * Prior Apptio/TBM consulting delivery in large, controlled enterprise environments with grounding in TBM standards, service-based cost frameworks, and regulated financial contexts. * Familiarity with IBM Cloudability, Turbonomic, or the broader IBM IT Automation portfolio. * FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP or equivalent). * Background in IT financial management concepts: budgeting, cost allocation, CapEx vs. OpEx, portfolio management.
