Job Summary

Participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients with potential behavior-related conditions, advises appropriate behavioral interactions, and provides individual and/or family therapy. This individual advises the patient, parent, and fellow clinical team members regarding appropriate behaviors and interactions and monitors clinical patient outcomes as needed. This individual participates with other clinical team members in the development of specific clinical programs.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an interdisciplinary team member to develop a plan of care that is patient-specific and comprehensive. • Facilitates the development of patient-specific services that are integrated into the overall care plan. • Provides and participates in team education sessions related to patients condition, especially with respect to cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. • Serves as a resource to staff members for support in dealing with challenging patients and families needs or behaviors. • Provides counseling services related to behavior issues for patients/families, whether individual or family therapy. • Provides patient/family therapy across the continuum of care. • Utilizes professional knowledge to help patients and families adjust emotionally and mentally to life-altering health conditions and diagnosis. • Facilitates communication between patient/family and treatment team seeking resolution of any issues impacting care. • Trained and certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to treat children with autism and related behavioral disorders, helping families implement behavioral modification plans of care specific to the child and their clinical condition. • Attends and facilitates program meetings and in-services. • Collaborates with other clinicians in program growth and development activities. • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to assure that patients caregivers psychosocial needs are met. • Provides appropriate and effective education to staff to meet individual needs and sustain program integrity. • Provides patient treatment across the continuum of care. • Maintains reasonably regular punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

• Masters degree

Licensure/Certification:

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral (BCBA-D) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certificate Board

Experience:

• Two years of clinical experience in a pediatric environment
