Madison College is hiring a full-time (40 hours per week/38 weeks per year) position of Lab Coordinator supporting our Applied Arts classes. This position ensures effective day-to-day operation of instructional laboratory and production studio spaces while serving in a vital student-centered support role. Responsibilities include assembling and maintaining lab equipment, coordinating lab activities and events, providing technical support and troubleshooting for Mac operating systems and instructional technology, supporting faculty and students with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and specialized software, maintaining safety compliance and operational guidelines, and overseeing inventory and procurement. The role directly supports hands-on learning by creating well-maintained, safe, and accessible lab environments, and provides peer-to-peer tutoring oversight ensuring students have access to resources needed for educational success. Additionally, this position collaborates with other departments on production requests including promotional videos, how-to content, and educational training tools, and coordinates program events such as portfolio shows and career days. The ideal candidate possesses proficiency in Mac operating systems, Adobe Creative Cloud applications and video and audio production with the ability to understand complex processes and learn new technologies quickly and efficiently. Candidates should be highly organized, tech-savvy, and thrive in a dynamic, student-centered academic environment. Programs generally supported by this position are Video Audio Design, Graphic Design, User Experience/Interaction Design and Animation. This position also collaborates with our Photography Lab Coordinator.

Position Details:
Expected Progression: This position includes an expected progression plan. Upon meeting the outlined criteria, you will be eligible to receive a $1.00 per hour increase.
Schedule: This position generally works 40 hours per week during the academic year (38, nonconsecutive weeks). General working hours are 8:00-4:30, M-F with some evenings and weekends as needed.
Benefits: This position is considered full-time with excellent full-time benefits (some may be prorated), including health/vision/dental/life insurance options and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
Start Date: Ideal start date is August 13th, 2026.
