Applicator and Fertilizer Specialist (Lead)

Job Duties

The Applicator and Fertilizer Specialist (Lead) is responsible for the precise and safe operation of agricultural spray and fertilizer application equipment to support crop production activities.

This year-round position involves preparing, mixing, and applying pesticides and fertilizers according to established agronomic recommendations and regulatory requirements. Th employee ensures accurate recordkeeping, proper equipment maintenance, and coordination of application schedules. Extended hours may be required during peak agricultural seasons

Duties: Operate and maintain spray rigs, fertilizer floaters, and other agricultural application equipment. Prepare, mix, and apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with prescribed rates and label directions. Load, transport, and handle bulk and packaged agricultural chemicals safely and in compliance with state and federal regulations. Calibrate and inspect application equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Maintain detailed records of product usage, field applications, and equipment maintenance. Schedule and coordinate application activities with crop production teams and customers. Direct and help train seasonal equipment operators in the operation of spray and fertilizer application equipment. Perform routine inspection, cleaning, servicing and basic repairs of vehicles and equipment. Monitor field and weather conditions to determine appropriate timing of applications. Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state agricultural agencies. Perform other related duties as required to support agronomy operations. Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, fumes, and moderate to loud noise. Work around moving mechanical equipment and uneven surfaces.

Wage: $52,790 annually ($25.38/hr).
