Our client is looking to hire an applications engineer for their team in McConnelsville, Ohio! Our client is a leader in developing and manufacturing high-precision, high-strength components for a wide range of industries.
The applications engineer is responsible for providing technical support in part design, tool design, cost optimization, and coordination of tool manufacturing activities within the solutions team.
Qualified candidates for the applications engineer role would have experience with applications engineering, powdered metals, 3-D Cero CAD, ProEngineer, drafting, and ability to read and develop detailed engineering drawings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain active communication and information exchange.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with customer design engineers.
- Provide proactive technical support to customers regarding part design, manufacturability, and tooling concepts.
- Prepare design proposal drawings for customer review.
- Create and revise part drawings based on customer and internal requirements.
- Perform tool design, including sintering tools, compaction tools, and part-specific tooling features.
- Improve tool systems in cooperation with product units.
- Conduct resource planning for tool manufacturing, including deadline tracking.
- Prepare procurement requisitions and manage follow-up for internally and externally sourced tools for PSD projects.
- Support PU's during tool setup and provide troubleshooting for tooling-related issues.
- Support optimization of product and tooling costs.
- Ensure designs are efficient, manufacturable.
- Analyze tooling concepts to identify cost-reduction or efficiency-improvement opportunities.
- Perform risk identification and define required safety instructions.
- Support employees in implementing safety-related requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Strong expertise in powder metal tool design.
- Proficiency with Creo/ProEngineer for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Understanding of sintering processes, powdered metal compaction, and tool behavior.
- Ability to read and develop detailed engineering drawings.S
