The Senior Application Developer is responsible for delivering high-quality application solutions by performing advanced design, configuration, development, and testing activities. This role works independently on mission-critical features and provides technical guidance to ensure solutions align with user requirements and program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the delivery of design, code, and testing for modules or multiple features and enablers.
  • Analyze user requirements and define technical project scope and assumptions during backlog grooming ceremonies.
  • Prepare requirements definitions, designs, and technical specifications as part of sprint planning activities.
  • Create business and or technical designs for new or modified application features or enablers.
  • Complete system configuration in accordance with approved specifications.
  • Triage and resolve configuration and application issues.
  • Assist and guide customers in writing test plans and test cases to ensure testing aligns with documented requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to less senior development staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree with 10+ years of experience required
    • Additional 6+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with software application design, development, and testing.
  • 5+ years of experience with the Appian BPM Platform.
  • Background check required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting enterprise application development efforts.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other developers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently on high-visibility or mission-critical program components.
  • Strong knowledge of application development life cycle methodologies.
  • Expertise in Appian application configuration, debugging, and optimization.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
