Building a Better Generation:
At Western Welding Academy, our mission is to transform lives through the highest-quality welding education and real-world training. The BDR is often the very first person a future student talks to — the voice that sets the tone for their whole journey. You'll move fast, create value in every call, and make sure no applicant falls through the cracks. The Role
As a Business Development Representative, you own the earliest and most important touchpoints in a student's journey. You'll reach out fast and often to prospective students, recover incomplete applications, and re-open doors that others thought were closed. You are a key driver of our enrollment engine, and your energy shows up in every conversation.
What You'll Do
- Call every new application within 5 minutes. Respond to each new application within 5 minutes during business hours. Your speed and professionalism set the tone for the student experience.
- Follow up on incomplete applications. Reach out to applicants who haven't finished applying. Find out what's holding them back, help them through it, and guide them to the finish line.
- Re-engage closed-lost opportunities. Call back people who dropped off, understand their decision, address their concerns, and reopen the door when you can.
- Log activity accurately and on time. Document every call and conversation in HubSpot. Keep records current and make sure follow-up tasks are always scheduled.
- Qualify and connect. Qualify prospects against our enrollment criteria, then hand off interested, qualified applicants to the right Enrollment Advisor for next steps.
- Make an exceptional first impression. Represent Western Welding Academy with professionalism, energy, and a student-first mindset in every interaction.
- Collaborate and improve. Share what you're learning with the Student Selection team to sharpen our scripts, processes, and results.
