Job Summary
This job performs all functions related to the collection of human blood, aphaeresis donors, component preparation, and hemotherapy. Performs quality control of solutions and equipment and is responsible for quality assessment audits, chart reviews and QA reports. Instructs students and new personnel, performs related administrative duties, and maintains donor/patient confidentiality. Assumes team leader responsibilities of overseeing fixed site or mobile collection functions as needed. Oversees donor reaction care by all staff, handles emergent reaction care, and insures all donor reaction documentation/follow-up is completed.
Shift Hours
4 10-hour shift (Off day Thursday), alternating weekend call
Requirements

Education
Required - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Work Experience
Required - 2 years of aphaeresis or other relevant Laboratory experience
Certifications
Required - Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Strong interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, geology, chemistry, mathematics.
