Kforce's client in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an experienced, hands-on AP Manager to support day-to-day accounts payable operations. This is a deliverables manager not a people manager position. This is a 12+ month contract. Accounts Payable Operations:
  • Manage GL and subledger processes to maintain organizational controls
  • Establish, maintain, and ensure best practice financial controls are consistently adhered to across accounts payable operations
  • Provide accurate and streamlined transaction processing
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are accurate and reconciled in a timely manner
Operational (Manage AP function):
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop and implement processing efficiencies
  • Oversee proper maintaining of all vendor documentation
  • Ensure timely payment of all vendors
  • Review and approve daily check and electronic payment process
  • Manage sales and use tax reporting and annual form 1099 reporting
  • Oversee maintenance of the approval authority matrix while partnering with AP system administrators to support workflow accuracy and control compliance
  • Administer vendor master file updates and controls to preserve system integrity and support efficient accounts payable operations
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits
  • Complete assigned ad hoc reporting requirements, as necessary
Financial Analysis:
  • Generate monthly accounts payable backlog reports to track invoice processing performance and identify improvement opportunities
Leadership:
  • Manage direct reports - set priorities; managerial guidance; development
  • Coach team members on effective vendor inquiry resolution and issue management, and directly handle escalations as needed
Systems Support/Process Improvement:
  • Coordinate monthly close processes for accounts payable
  • Identify and lead process improvements, including dashboard development for accounts payable
  • Partner with IT on reporting/improvements, as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounts payable
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Understanding of integrated business systems
  • Experience working with accounts payable automation software
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • History of building and maintaining solid business relationships with internal and external customers
  • Effective use of interpersonal skills to achieve common organizational objectives
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Hands-on, Player/Coach capabilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
