Anticipated Spanish Teacher for 2026/2027

Job Summary:

This position is for a Spanish Teacher at Abraham Clark High School for the 2026-2027 school year

Qualifications/Responsibilities:

  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Spanish or World Languages
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of second language acquisition strategies
  • Ability to engage and motivate adolescent learners
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experince

  • Experience working in urban or diverse school settings
  • Familiarity with SEL practices and restorative approaches
  • Experience integrating technology into instruction
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver standards-based Spanish instruction for grades 9-12
  • Develop engaging lessons that promote communication and language acquisition
  • Integrate cultural components into daily instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment with effective management strategies
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs
  • Supervise students during assigned duties (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions)
  • Strong classroom management and consistency with setting rituals and routines.

Stipend/Salary:

REA Salary Guide Range

BA: Step 1 $61,500.00- MA+30 Step 21 $104,807.00
