Position Overview:
Delsea Regional High School is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Head Football Coach to lead and develop a competitive and respected football program. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of football, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. This role requires fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and sportsmanship while ensuring full compliance with district policies and New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching:
Design and implement comprehensive practice plans, game strategies, and seasonal programs. Provide high-level instruction to enhance individual player development and overall team performance.
Game Day Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of game-day operations, including pre-game preparation, in-game decision-making, and post-game evaluation. Demonstrate strong leadership in managing staff, making strategic adjustments, and maximizing team performance.
Player Development:
Mentor and develop student-athletes by promoting discipline, teamwork, accountability, and character. Create an environment that supports both athletic achievement and personal growth.
Program Development & Scouting:
Lead all aspects of program development, including scouting opponents, analyzing game film, and implementing systems that ensure long-term program success. Identify and develop talent within the school and feeder programs.
Administrative Duties:
Manage all administrative responsibilities associated with the program, including maintaining accurate records, supervising equipment and inventory, organizing team events, and coordinating with athletic department staff.
Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all school, district, and NJSIAA rules and regulations. Promote integrity, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct throughout the program.
Communication:
Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with student-athletes, parents, coaching staff, and school administration. Serve as a positive representative of Delsea Regional High School and its athletic program.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior coaching experience at the high school level or higher is strongly preferred, with demonstrated success in building and sustaining a competitive football program. Thorough understanding of football systems, strategies, and player development.
Education:
A high school diploma is required.
Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and lead student-athletes and coaching staff.
Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Completion of all required state coaching certifications and trainings is expected.
Background Check:
Successful completion of a criminal background check and child abuse clearance in accordance with state and district policies.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to actively participate in practices, games, and team events. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and offseason commitments.
Stipend:$10,858.00
