The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a deep understanding of digital-first news production. Your primary role will involve live evening and weekend streaming, social video posts, and engaging real-time with viewers. You will host and produce content for evening and weekend hours on our Fox Local platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a live environment and wants to build the future of local news. The position includes linear news anchoring and reporting as needed.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • You are digitally native, technically confident, and polished on camera.
  • You understand streaming workflows and live video production.
  • You have strong news judgment and can make smart editorial and technical decisions quickly.
  • You enjoy collaborating across teams and experimenting with new formats.
  • Ability to debate and willing to look at multiple points of view on a subject.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and host a live, viewer-driven streaming show.
  • Operate streaming production tools, including live switching, encoding, clipping, publishing, and real-time troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with newsroom, digital, social, and production teams to align coverage, workflows, and priorities across platforms.
  • Ensure all content meets journalistic standards, legal requirements, and FOX group guidelines for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Anchor and/or report for newscasts as needed.
  • Pitch story ideas, develop sources, work with Producers and Assignment Planners to plan future content.
  • Position will be weekend and nightside.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How to stand out:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, or a related field with a digital focus.
  • Experience producing digital video, live streams, or social-first news content.
  • Strong technical proficiency with live streaming workflows, including video switching, live publishing, clipping, and distribution.
  • Hands-on experience with video editing tools and production software; Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as news demands.
