Analytics Consultant
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Analytics and contribute to large-scale planning related to Analytics deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Analytics challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Analytics.
Required Qualifications: 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
Location: Open to Charlotte, Des Moines and Dallas locations Bill Rate. Duration: 12 months Shift: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm (Flexible) Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 remote

- Microsoft Power BI-Performance Analyzer-Analyze visual level and query level performance in Power BI Desktop-Capacity Metrics App-Identify capacity usage patterns, spikes, and outage causing operations
- Power Query (M)-Distinguish between performant and non performant M code-Paginated Reports (SSRS)-Optimize report rendering time and understand CU consumption
- Microsoft Fabric-Working knowledge of Notebooks, Direct Lake, Data Pipelines, and capacity related behaviors
- On Premises Data Gateways
- Diagnose connectivity failures
- Understand gateway architecture and usage requirements
- Data Modeling-Design and assess efficient data models-Improve relationships, cardinality, and query paths for optimal performance
- DAX Studio (Bonus Skill)-Use advanced diagnostics to identify query inefficiencies and bottlenecks-Review, optimize, and refactor poorly performing DAX calculations
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve enterprise BI support tickets through the CASE system, with the majority focused on Microsoft Power BI.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues including:
- Power BI Gateway connectivity
- Report and dataset access
- Capacity and performance constraints
- Database connectivity problems
- Report design and implementation questions
- High system capacity usage
- Missing or misconfigured gateway drivers
- Platform level issues impacting availability or performance
- Partner with various teams across the bank to:
- Analyze semantic models and reporting structures
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (slow loads, high CU usage)
- Provide best practice guidance for scalable and performant reporting solutions
- Collaborate closely:
- Power BI Platform Team
- Database Administrators (DBAs)
- Microsoft Vendor Support
- Act as a technical consultant by meeting directly with users to:
- Fully understand business and technical problems
- Recommend and implement effective solutions
- Coordinate across platform and vendor teams when required
