Analytical Instrumentation Field Service Specialist

What your week looks like
You’ll operate remotely in a salaried role and spend most days on-site with customers across the Midwest. Expect up to five days of travel per week, with occasional extended trips as needed. Your primary territory will include one or more of the following: Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania, with travel to neighboring regions when required. The ideal home base is near Erie, PA, though other locations along the I-90 corridor between Cleveland, OH and Buffalo, NY are also considered.
How you’ll make an impact
- Keep analytical and metallographic instruments operating at peak performance through preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
- Install new systems, implement updates, and apply upgrade kits to enhance capability and reliability.
- Train users on theory, operation, software, and best-practice upkeep so customers get maximum value from their instruments.
- Execute all service work in alignment with LECO’s ISO accreditation and quality standards.
Your growth path
- Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months.
- Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country.
- Return annually for service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan to stay current.
What you bring
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a professional presence at customer sites.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to site safety protocols.
- Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday).
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong mechanical skills, and previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn.
- Chemistry or military background is advantageous, but not required.
Education and credentials
- Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School; or
- Prior Military with training in a technical field; or
- Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field.
Schedule and location details
- Full Time: Remote, salaried position with travel.
- Primary service area: Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania; with travel to surrounding regions on an as-needed basis.
- Ideal candidate location: near Erie, PA (or along the I-90 corridor between Cleveland, OH & Buffalo, NY).
Compensation
This position offers a $5,000 signing bonus.
