The Planning Analyst supports short- and long‑term business planning for a regulated tobacco products organization. This role is responsible for forecasting demand in partnership with Sales, analyzing sales and inventory trends, supporting production and distribution planning, and ensuring plans align with regulatory, tax and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to operate in a highly regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain demand, supply, and financial forecasts across product lines and customer channelsAnalyze historical sales, market trends, promotional activity, and regulatory impacts to improve forecast accuracyTranslate demand forecasts into production and replenishment plansBalance inventory levels, service targets, manufacturing capacity, and supplier constraintsMonitor inventory health, including excess, obsolete, and at‑risk inventorySupport monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles (S&OP / IBP processes)Prepare regular planning and performance reports, dashboards and executive summaries including volume, revenue and inventory KPIsIdentify risks and opportunities related to demand variability, capacity constraints and inventory levelsConduct ad‑hoc analysis to support pricing, product life‑cycle and market strategy decisionsPartner with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance and Compliance teams to align plans and assumptionsSupport new product introductions, SKU rationalization and market changesCommunicate forecast changes and planning insights clearly to stakeholdersEnsure planning activities account for regulatory requirements, excise taxes and reporting obligationsAssist with tracking and planning around federal, state and local tax rate changesSupport internal and external audits through accurate data preparation and documentationContribute to forecast accuracy improvement initiatives and planning process enhancementsSupport system upgrades, reporting automation, and planning tool optimisationDocument standard operating procedures and best practicesAll other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Analytics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred2–5 years of experience in planning, forecasting, supply chain, finance or analytical rolesExperience in a regulated, consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing or tobacco‑related industry preferredStrong analytical and quantitative skillsAdvanced proficiency in ExcelExperience with planning systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, APO or similar) and Data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferredAbility to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendationsStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environmentWhat We OfferBase salary and bonus programmeMedical, dental, vision and life insurance effective on date of hireGenerous 401(k) planDefined contribution planPaid vacation and paid holidaysTuition reimbursement#J-18808-Ljbffr
