Description of Job

The Platform Applications Team Lead serves as the primary Systems Administrator and strategic mentor for the Salesforce ecosystem within the Agency, supporting existing Salesforce solutions and implementing new ones. This role leads by example and balances technical mastery with a commitment to team empowerment. The lead guides a hybrid team in delivering adaptive, high-value solutions to complex organizational problems while fostering a culture of autonomy, growth, and transparent collaboration.

This role removes operational roadblocks and empowers the team to self-manage their daily workflows. They are responsible for cultivating a cross-functional environment where diverse technical approaches are respected and tested. By mentoring staff and leading the internal Salesforce Center of Excellence (CoE), they will set the standard for administrator best practices to support the entire agency.

Functionally, the Lead collaborates with Product Owners and subject matter experts to capture and document requirements that adhere to configure-first and API-driven architectures. They will be responsible for the integrity of the software lifecycle, overseeing comprehensive unit, end-to-end, accessibility, and regression testing to facilitate smooth release management. By building strong professional relationships with agency leaders, the Lead will ensure that all Salesforce solutions meet evolving business needs while championing the platform's future utility as a key tool to support the organization's digital strategy.

Experience Only:

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position to include any combination of the following: Working with IT Requirements for project fulfillment, Solution/Application building, Database and Data Flow experience, IT Ticketing Systems, IT/Data Governance, IT Administrative tasks, Application Builds, and the related Critical Thinking, Problem Solving,

In addition to the above experience, your application must clearly demonstrate experience in Salesforce Administration to be considered.

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Admin Certification

  • Technology project team leadership

  • Technology change management leadership.

  • Experience as a team lead/supervisor.

  • Experience performing related duties as a State of Colorado permanent employee.
