Job Description and Duties

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to four days a week and required to report to the office once a week or as needed/required in accordance with F5CA's Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Director of the Fiscal Services Office (Accounting Administrator II), the Analyst III functions as the Fiscal Advisor and is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining all fiscal systems for First 5 California (F5CA). These fiscal operations include all budget, accounting, and auditing systems.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

This position may require travel.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in multi-fund budgeting processes, financial data analysis and fiscal planning with FI$Cal and Hyperion proficiency.
  • Demonstrated strength in analytical and research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of various computer software applications, databases, Internet based tools and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Excel). Experience with pivot tables.
  • Ability to multi-task between competing priorities simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
