Job Description and Duties

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to four (4) days a week and required to report to the office one (1) time a week or as needed/required in accordance with CCSWG's Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Director of Policy and Legislation (Supervisor II), the Senior Policy Specialist (Analyst III) functions as an independent, high-level, non-supervisory subject matter expert. In this capacity, the Analyst III is responsible for leading the most advanced level of research, information gathering, and complex policy analysis to develop well-substantiated, strategic recommendations for the Supervisor II and the Commission. The Analyst III exercises broad discretion and professional judgment in addressing sensitive, multi-dimensional policy issues that impact the Commission's statewide priorities. The position provides authoritative technical expertise, consultative guidance, and analytical support to further the Commission's mission, vision, and long-term goals. This includes anticipating emerging policy needs, integrating diverse stakeholder perspectives, and ensuring that recommendations reflect both statutory requirements and best practices in policy development.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

Working location Information: Public parking, gym off-site.

This position may require travel.

Special Requirements
