Job Description and Duties
METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL-Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County. *Pending Budget Approval for Analyst II
Under the supervision of the Supervisor I-Training Manager or designee, the incumbent will assess the complex and sensitive training needs of MSH and assist in the development of a comprehensive training plan to address the needs based on the goals and objectives of the Department of State Hospitals. Incumbents perform work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical staff services assignments such as program evaluation and planning; systems development; training; and personnel analysis; assistance in coordinating and maintaining the hospitals training programs; organizing new training and monitor state compliance and identified DSH-required trainings; and provide technical services including audio-visual support to maintain the mission of the Training Office. May be required to work weekends and light statewide travel.

Department Information
Opened in 1916, DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is in the vibrant community of Norwalk,15 miles east of Los Angeles. To the south are entertainment venues like Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, the marinas and beaches of Huntington, Newport and Laguna. To the west are Palos Verdes and Marina Del Rey. DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital has an open campus within a security perimeter. The hospital operates approximately 826 beds. The commitment categories of patients treated at DSH-Metropolitan: Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act, Incompetent to Stand Trial (PC 1370), Offenders with Mental Health Disorders (Penal Code Section 2964/2972/2974), Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (PC 1026).
