Description of Position
Oversee and ensure that specific administrative functions of the organizational unit are effectively carried out. Perform technical and specialized office support work, requiring independent judgment, applying technical skills, and detailed knowledge of the activities and procedures specific to the department or unit. Attend to various administrative details such as departmental/division activities, communicating information, developing, implementing, and interpreting policies and procedures, and monitoring day-to-day operations of the functional area to which assigned. Screens inquiries from internal and external customers requiring judgment and the interpretation of policies, rules, procedures, and regulations, always maintaining federal FERPA compliance.
- Cross-trained in at least two areas of emphasis
- Understand and explain FERPA applications to other Student or Development staff.
- Assists with the review, configuration, implementation, and testing of new technology or updates to existing software tools.
- Professional integrity: Comfortable answering questions and serving as a resource to others concerning institutional policy and government regulations. Recognizes when to seek the advice and guidance of others in working with legal counsel, summarizing relevant facts, and discussing the legal and ethical issues involved in developing a response.
- Problem-solving: Identify the problem and consider potential solutions by partnering with Enrollment Services Analyst Sr.
- Ability to identify updates needed in procedure appropriate to the position emphases "in support of the broad responsibility of the institution for enhancing the collegiate experience for all students." (Per CAS standards)
- Ability to provide advanced support of at least two stages in the life cycle of Yavapai College students from the point of admission through registration through certificate/degree conferral.
- Ability to produce Cognos reports to support at least one other emphasis and to identify changes in report parameters as needed.
- Ability to support small/large-scale data updates as needed and to identify associated problems in the Banner SIS, applying data maintenance standards.
Minimum Expectations & Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience is required in the area of specialty.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should know about a current Student Information System, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function, as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties.
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Four or more years of directly related experience.
- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner SIS
