Analyst-Financial Lead Senior

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our System Services CFO Admin team in the role of Lead Senior Financial Analyst.

Role Responsibilities

Possesses a strong ability to analyze complex financial data to drive operational improvement and serves as a subject matter expert in one or more key financial areas. Partners closely with executive leadership and business unit stakeholders to understand financial objectives, risk tolerance, and key performance drivers. Coordinates and supports the system financial team in delivering actionable insights-including analysis, reporting, and pro formas-to support operational and strategic decision-making. Provides analytical and consultative support to departmental and service line leadership, translating financial, operational, clinical, and economic data into meaningful recommendations. Interprets data related to costs, pricing, expenses, revenues, and key performance indicators to advise senior management on business decisions and financial performance impacts. Develops forecasts and evaluates economic indicators to assess the organization's short-, medium-, and long-term financial position. Oversees the month-end close process, ensuring results are accurate and compliant with GAAP. Leads and documents complex analytical projects while providing technical expertise to support broader team initiatives. This role functions primarily as an individual contributor and may provide informal leadership to team members, leveraging deep expertise to influence decisions, enhance performance, and drive financial transparency across the organization.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Manager, Financial Reporting and Budgeting

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

  • Degree in Finance or related field a plus.

  • Requires 3+ years of relevant financial or operational analysis experience; at least 2 years of experience in healthcare industry preferred.

  • Requires analytical experience working with complex data sets.

  • Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products/applications; strong Microsoft Excel experience required; relational database and financial or operational modeling experience a plus.
