Analyst, Content Planning & Analysis Disney Entertainment (DE) is one of the three major business segments of The Walt Disney Company, consisting of Disney's entertainment media and content businesses, including its motion picture film studios, Disney General Entertainment Content, streaming services, and international media businesses.The Content Planning & Analysis team works cross-functionally across Disney Entertainment (DE) segment finance teams, direct-to-consumer strategy, data analytics, research, operations, marketing, and programming to translate DTC data (Disney+, Hulu, and Hotstar) into financial decisions regarding the production and acquisition of shows and films. The team works closely with senior leadership to provide strategic insights and help inform critical business decisions for the streaming and content businesses.The Analyst, Content Planning & Analysis will be responsible for analytically evaluating investment and performance of the content on the various Disney Streaming platforms (Disney+, Hulu, and Hotstar) and across multiple distribution windows. This role will work on projects involving different content categories/genres and portfolio level analyses, content engagement, third party licensing deal valuations, distribution and windowing decisions, and executive-level reporting for leaders in Walt Disney Studios (WDS). The role will also contribute to the development and application of analytical methodologies and KPI tracking, for evaluating the performance of content. The Content Planning & Analysis team collaborates closely with stakeholders from Walt Disney Studios, and with finance, strategy, data analytics, research, and operational marketing and scheduling teams.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Conducting analyses of title-level and portfolio content performance (generally using Excel to manipulate and interpret large sets of data)Creating presentations that summarize analyses about title expectations and performance, and insights on portfolio/brand/genre performanceBuilding models to inform deal valuations, greenlight decisions, and windowing strategiesDeveloping and updating title performance forecastsMaintaining standard datasets and presentation materials, such as weekly content categorization and quarterly title rankersRequired Education, Experience /Skills/Training:4-year degree in relevant fieldAt least 1 year of work experience preferably in finance/strategy roles at media/technology companies, or other quantitative fieldsHighly analytical and strong, effective communicators who can also thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure environmentsPossess intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrityMust be motivated, disciplined, flexible, and be able to work effectively in collaborative and autonomous environmentsHigh aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including highly advanced Excel modeling skillsFamiliarity with statistical concepts and analysisFluency in building visualizations of complex data setsEffective at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses, and proficient with PowerPoint slide buildingHigh EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive levelDemonstrated interest in the entertainment and/or tech industriesPrior experience in Media/Entertainment is a plus, but not a prerequisite.The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $95,600.00 - $116,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
