Location: Santa Ana, CA 92705 (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite)
Pay Rate: $30/hr – $38/hr on W2
Duration: 18 month with potential extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Business Analyst to support Asset Data Research & Remediation initiatives. This role will be responsible for performing geospatial analysis, asset data validation, records research, and documentation activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of utility asset records.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with GIS platforms, utility asset management systems, data analysis, and cross-functional teams. This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills to identify discrepancies, investigate asset records, and recommend corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform desktop geospatial analysis to identify missing utility assets and asset identification information.
  • Validate asset locations using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth, LiDAR, and related geospatial tools.
  • Research and identify missing records across enterprise systems including SAP, GIS, and circuit mapping systems.
  • Review field-captured photographs and supporting documentation to validate asset information.
  • Analyze work orders, engineering documentation, and field records to identify critical asset details.
  • Consolidate research findings and prepare documentation required for system-of-record corrections.
  • Investigate discrepancies between field conditions and digital asset records.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for correcting inaccurate or conflicting asset information.
  • Develop process documentation, workflows, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support asset data quality initiatives.
  • Track issues, document findings, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of data remediation and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, GIS analysis, asset management, utility operations, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, document, and draw conclusions from data.
Required Skills
GIS & Geospatial Analysis
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using one or more of the following:
  • ArcGIS
  • ArcGIS Online
  • ESRI Products
  • AutoCAD Map 3D
  • Google Earth
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel including:
  • VLOOKUP
  • IF Functions
  • Data Validation
  • Pivot Tables
  • Experience performing data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
Business Analysis
  • Experience identifying business problems and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Experience documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to create process documentation and workflow diagrams.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and business initiatives.
Records Management
  • Experience researching and maintaining enterprise asset records.
  • Experience working with asset management, GIS, or records management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Experience within the electric utility, energy, or public utility industry.
