What You’ll Do:
  • Facilitate Understanding: Ensure smooth and accurate two-way ASL interpretation during medical appointments and daily interactions with caregivers.
  • Amplify Voices: Empower our client to express their needs, choices, and preferences with clarity and acceptance.
  • Translate with Care: Simplify complex medical terminology and everyday conversations to ensure understanding and accessibility.
  • Champion Inclusion: Make certain that the client’s thoughts and perspectives are valued and respected in every interaction.Collaborate for Success: Work hand-in-hand with a dedicated team to discover and implement effective communication strategies tailored specifically for the client.

Who We’re Looking For:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, particularly those with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to pass all Wisconsin DHS-required caregiver background checks, including registry reviews and mandatory reporting clearance.
  • A patient and empathetic nature, paired with exceptional listening skills.
