Job Title: Ambulatory Device Technician

Location: New York, NY
Duration: 28 Weeks
Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Compensation:

  • Traveler Pay: $55–$60/hr based on experience
  • Local Pay: $45–$50/hr based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Device Technician to support cardiac device operations within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiology, pacemaker and ICD interrogation/programming, and patient monitoring. This role requires strong technical, communication, and documentation skills while working collaboratively with clinical teams and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pacemaker and ICD interrogation and programming procedures
  • Support ambulatory cardiac device monitoring and electrophysiology operations
  • Assist with patient assessments, documentation, and device-related follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and charge entry when applicable
  • Collaborate with physicians, electrophysiology teams, and clinical staff to support patient care
  • Educate patients, families, and staff regarding electrophysiological monitoring and device management
  • Monitor device performance and report abnormalities or concerns to clinical leadership
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and departmental protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and technical documentation related to cardiac device procedures
  • Support daily operational workflow within the ambulatory cardiology setting

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited program in Cardiac Electrophysiology Technology or equivalent education/experience preferred

Certifications:

  • Current AHA BLS Certification
  • Current AHA ACLS Certification
  • Current AHA PALS Certification

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience within specialty required
  • Minimum 2 years of pacemaker/ICD interrogation and programming experience required
  • Experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac device technology, or MRI operations preferred

Required Skills:

  • Strong computer literacy and EMR documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to educate patients, families, and healthcare staff effectively
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care
