We are seeking a strong candidate to join our logistics department as an AM Expediting/Logistics Supervisor, for a growing food service company specializing in sustainable school meals cooked from scratch. We’re seeking an intelligent, responsible, and reliable individual who can help to create a cohesive relationship between our customer service and logistics teams. This person should be comfortable in an ever changing, fast paced environment.

You should have strong moral character, with a willingness and appreciation for open dialogue and transparency. An ability to facilitate or be part of a team is essential. Duties
Assist with expediting morning routes, communicating with kitchen for missing items, helping drivers locate, ensure that no items are left in the coolers.
Serve as a backup driver/trainer for scheduled days off, call outs, and drivers that need additional training.
Supervising parking lot to ensure that trucks are parked properly, and parking lot is clean.
Completing vehicle checks daily as drivers return, logging any maintenance issues or damage, checking fuel levels to ensure the truck is ready for the route the following day.
Helping with cleanliness and maintenance of the dock
Sending trucks for car wash and maintenance as needed.
Assisting in inventory as needed, including receiving deliveries, staging items, etc.
Requirements
Able to work early mornings
Lean Process Improvement Experience a Plus!
Experience multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment
Able to effectively problem solve both independently and collaboratively
Must be reliable, responsible, flexible and able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. Our kitchen environment is very dynamic and requires someone who can change gears quickly and troubleshoot problems independently.
Strong knowledge of Chicagoland geography, towns, highways, and roads a plus
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements a plus
Strong communication skills
Strong computer skills, proficient in the Microsoft Suite
Fluent in English (bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus)
Clean background check

Location: City of Chicago
Pay: $18.00 per hour
