Tarts de Feybesse is a contemporary p tisserie located in Oakland's Northlake District, specializing in handcrafted French and Filipino inspired pastries, entremets, viennoiseries, artisan breads, and specialty beverages. As our bakery continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated full-time baker who is passionate about quality, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
This position is ideal for someone with previous bakery or restaurant pastry experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment.
Schedule: This is a full-time position consisting of five shifts per week based on business needs. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Wednesday- Sunday 4am-12:30; candidates must have full availability during these hours and be willing to work overtime when business needs require.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Prepare and bake a variety of breads, viennoiseries, pastries, and other baked goods according to company recipes and quality standards.
* Scale, mix, shape, proof, and bake products while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
* Assist with daily production and ensure products are completed on schedule.
* Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations throughout the shift.
* Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products following food safety guidelines.
* Monitor product quality and communicate any concerns to the leadership team.
* Assist with inventory organization and communicate ingredient shortages.
* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
* Support other members of the production team and assist with additional tasks as business needs require.
* Participate in daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.

Experience:
* Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant pastry kitchen, or similar food production environment.
* Basic knife skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
* Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Experience with French pastries, laminated doughs, and artisan bread production; preferred
* Experience scaling recipes and operating commercial bakery equipment; preferred
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand for extended periods.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with early morning start
Appearance & Dress Code
You are expected to maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold all company dress, grooming, and local health department standards. Appropriate work attire must be clean, neat, and safe for a food service environment. All employees are required to wear non-slip shoes throughout their shift. Uniform aprons are provided for all team members, and Back of House employees will also be provided with kitchen shirts, which must be worn while on duty. Hair (including facial hair) must be clean, secured, and kept away from food preparation areas as required. Good personal hygiene is essential, and excessive fragrances should be avoided. Clothing that is unsafe, excessively worn, offensive, or inappropriate for a professional workplace is not permitted. You are expected to maintain a professional appearance at all times while representing Tarts de Feybesse.
