PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Achieve program targets students that are at-risk for academic failure, students that are more likely to drop out, and have social/emotional needs different than that of our Alternative Education programs. Students selected for this program will be removed from a traditional schedule and will spend their day in the Achieve program room with one instructor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) for Grades 9-12
- A demonstrated ability to easily relate to and interact with high school students at all ability levels, specifically those who are not successful in a traditional classroom setting.
- Experience facilitating self-paced online learning platforms preferred.
- An understanding of restorative justice practices.
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- An ability to be patient, resilient, tolerant, and have a genuine understanding of student difficulties
- Strong behavior management and positive intervention skills
- ESL, Math, or English endorsed candidates are encouraged to apply
