General Function

The Allied Health Admissions Specialist is responsible for coordinating, managing, and supporting the admissions processes for limited enrollment allied health programs (e.g. Nursing, Radiography, Sonography, Dental Hygiene.) This position serves as a primary point of contact for the health admissions enrollment process and to ensure equitable admissions practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage application processes for limited-enrollment allied health programs from application submission through acceptance.
  • Review and evaluate applications for completeness, eligibility, and compliance with program and NCCCS requirements.
  • Coordinate ranking and selection of applicants in coordination with the dean, associate dean, program chairs and faculty.
  • Maintain admissions timelines, deadlines and selection criteria in conjunction with the academic department for multiple programs.
  • Assist students with application troubleshooting and document submission.
  • Maintain accurate admissions records using the college's student information system and related databases.
  • Ensures compliance with FERPA, NCCCS policies, accreditation standards, and college policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, applicant data summaries, and admissions statistics for internal and external use.
  • Supports the Admissions team with record creation, upkeep and maintenance as needed.
  • Works with the Admissions and Student Records teams to assist with department workflows and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree and six months of work experience in a college, customer service or administrative working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
