Position Details:
The Opportunity:
As the All Things ConsideredHost/Producer for Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB), you will be responsible for main control board operation of Northwest Public Broadcasting's radio broadcast stations during assigned shifts and will serve as local host of All Things Considered. Your duties will include producing pre-recorded elements, such as underwriting announcements and station promotional and fundraising spots as assigned, and providing on-camera and/or on-air voicing for radio, podcasts, TV and web designed programs and/or series. In this role, you will be required to practice sound journalistic judgment in order to skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and share news content on a live radio broadcast and to update news and information before, during and after selected program broadcast, on social media or other digital post.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.
This is a temporary position that is renewed on an annual basis. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary:
$4,508.70 - $5,635.87 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
• A relevant Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year full-time professional radio broadcast experience in one of the following areas: gathering, writing, editing and producing materials for radio; classical music announcing; or hosting NPR network programming.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstrated experience in producing original content in broadcast media or online.
• Demonstrated experience with radio or TV editing software and equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining an ongoing presence online through social media and/or website.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse customers and groups.
• Additional two (2) years full-time professional radio broadcast experience, for a total of three (3), in one of the following areas: gathering, writing, editing and producing materials for radio; classical music announcing; or hosting NPR network programming.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two to three (2-3) years of experience in public radio.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Competence in using Windows computer operating systems.
• Digital production experience.
