EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to provide behavioral and instructional support.
Major Responsibilities & Requirements
• Provide instructional support across general and special education classes • Implement behavioral prevention and management strategies individualized to student needs • Collection and on-going maintenance of behavioral data collection • Ability to assist with hygiene i.e. toileting routines • Proactive and consistent communication with students, school team • Availability to work specified school hours and attend all required meetings and trainings • Experience in de-escalation techniques or willingness to be trained • Other duties as assigned by supervising Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Qualifications
Must meet Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) paraeducator standards.
High School diploma or GED diploma AND
• Two years of college credit OR • An Associates or higher degree OR • Pass the State Board of Education adopted paraeducation assessment (ParaPro), which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading, writing, and an understanding of how to assist in the instructions of these topics.
Previous experience working in a public-school setting is highly recommended.
Excellent professionalism and communication skills are essential.
Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and dependability are also required.
Ability to safely perform physical restraint techniques when necessary.
Must have a valid CT drivers license and maintain active vehicle insurance.

The ILC SCW works under the supervision of the New Milford Public Schools Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
