High School Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach
Reports to Head Coach, Athletic Director and School Principal
Summary of Position:
The JV Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity volleyball program in a way that aligns with the mission and values of the school. This role focuses on skill development, fostering a positive team culture, and preparing student-athletes for advancement to the varsity level, all while modeling a Christ-centered life.

Qualifications:
- Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and game strategy
- Ability to teach and connect with high school athletes
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Passion for mentoring students both athletically and spiritually
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging, development-focused practices (typically 5–6 days per week during the season)
- Teach fundamental volleyball skills, game strategy, and teamwork
- Build a positive, encouraging, and disciplined team culture
- Provide appropriate playing time and development opportunities for all athletes
- Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure program alignment and progression
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team events
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff
- Model and promote good sportsmanship, character, and Christ-like behavior
- Integrate faith into coaching through prayer, devotionals, and mentorship
- Ensure compliance with school and WIAA policies
