Summary/Objective Perform tasks involving physical labor at the airport and heavy construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites.

Essential Functions

Drive and operate equipment, as authorized and properly trained, including forklifts, grinders, skid steers, hand striping equipment, blowers, sweepers, and pickup trucks. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on airport and heavy construction projects, including preparing surfaces for striping, maintenance, and repair work. Remove paint using paint removal equipment, including waterblasting systems. Move, position, and secure stencils and other materials to prepare for painting. Apply paint using hand striping equipment or paint trucks. Prepare pavement and apply crack sealant. Apply seal coat materials in accordance with safety and project requirements. Remove rubber from runways using grinder truck equipment. Sweep runways using sweeper truck equipment. Maintain a clean and safe job site by picking up tools and equipment, securing materials, and eliminating potential hazards at the end of each shift. Handle, load, unload, store, haul, and hoist materials as required for the project. Follow all safety, incident reporting, airport security, and company procedures. Promptly report concerns to the Supervisor, Human Resources, or Safety Manager. Travel as required for project assignments, including extended assignments, subject to applicable company policy and Puerto Rico employment requirements. Comply with applicable federal, Puerto Rico, airport, Department of Transportation, and Federal Motor Carrier safety requirements, as applicable to assigned duties. Work safely around high-pressure water systems and other specialized equipment. Use basic pneumatic troubleshooting skills when required and within the employee's training and authorization.

Work EnvironmentThis position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor airport and construction environments, including heat, humidity, inclement weather, dust, asphalt, chemicals, high-pressure water systems, and loud noise. Employees must follow all applicable safety, airport security, and company procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands. This position requires stamina and the ability to perform physical work for extended periods. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, bend, kneel, climb, stand, walk, and work in varying weather conditions as required by the job. The employee must maintain awareness of surroundings to support safe working conditions. Reasonable accommodation may be made consistent with applicable law.

Work ScheduleDay, night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required based on project and airport operational needs. Work schedules, meal periods, rest periods, overtime, seventh-day work, and any required premium pay will be administered in accordance with applicable Puerto Rico and federal wage and hour requirements, including Puerto Rico Act No. 379 of 1948, Act No. 289 of 1946, Act No. 180-1998, Act No. 4-2017, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

TravelFrequent travel may be required, including extended project assignments. Travel expectations, lodging, per diem, reimbursement, and related compensation practices will be administered in accordance with company policy and applicable Puerto Rico and federal requirements.

Additional Requirements

Successful completion of employment eligibility verification and required onboarding documentation. Background check and airport or military installation badging review, as required by customer, airport, security, or project requirements and as permitted by applicable law. Drug and alcohol screening, where required for safety-sensitive, DOT-regulated, airport, customer, or company policy purposes and administered in accordance with applicable Puerto Rico and federal law. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, when driving is an essential job duty. Ability to obtain and maintain required airport, customer, or military installation access credentials. Ability to comply with all applicable safety, security, licensing, and training requirements for assigned work.
