Job Summary:
HQ Aero is currently recruiting an Aircraft Open / Close Technician in Tucson, AZ.
About the Role:
An excellent entry point into the aviation industry, this hands-on position offers the opportunity to work directly with aircraft panels, components, and structures in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Ideal for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build real-world experience and grow within the field.
What You'll Do:
Open and close aircraft panels using hand tools.
Perform basic maintenance tasks.
Clean aircraft wheel wells and underbelly
Remove corrosion protection and work with various chemicals.
Follow FAA regulations and company policies.
Assist with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including exposure to jet engine fumes, chemicals, dust, and noise
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, twisting, and working in confined spaces
Cognitive ability to inspect, clean, sort, count, salvage, store equipment, and assemble kits
Able to operate scissor lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
Strong distance judgment and spatial awareness
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions
Job Type:
Full-time, Contract
Shift Work (must be willing to work any shift)
Shift hours: 6:30 till 7:00 (day or night)
12-hour rotating shift patterns: 3 days on / 4 days off | 4 days on / 3 days off
Paid orientation (Mon thru Thurs).
Requirements:
Must bring own tools (per required tool list) with etched identification.
Must pass FAA- compliant drug/alcohol screening and background check (no felonies)
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Hight School Diploma or equivalent is required.
