The T-38 Aircraft Mechanic III - APG Crew Chief & Rigger maintains and inspects T-38 aircraft and support systems, performs repairs, troubleshooting, and ground operations, and ensures compliance with safety and documentation standards.
Essential functions include inspecting aircraft structures, engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems, removing/installing assemblies, conducting operational checks, and supervising launch/recovery.
Responsible for rigging, weight/balance, corrosion inspection, crash recovery, and maintaining records using automated systems.
Performs FOD walks, tool control, hazardous material handling, and supports maintenance improvement efforts.
Requires strong knowledge of T-38 systems, technical data interpretation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications include 10+ years aviation maintenance experience, 5+ years on T-38, relevant certifications, and ability to obtain security clearance.
