Our success is about teamwork, a coordinated effort from all disciplines, from clients to consultants and most important, it's about delivering on our commitments.ICMS is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Helper to provide aircraft maintenance services to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS, U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) for the Medium Range Surveillance (MRS) Product Line. To ensure that aircraft remain in top condition, ALC currently completes program depot maintenance (PDM) (described as a total overhaul of an airframe) every four (4) years on each of the USCG's aircraft. During the overhaul process, any required repairs, modifications, and/or upgrades are also completed during this process. ALC may also complete overhauls and repairs for various other Government aircraft and components. In support of the USCG's PDM program, the USCG requires Aircraft Maintenance Services (AMS) for aircraft, components, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and various other parts and components in support of USCG aviation. For this position, the specific aircraft that will be maintained will include the USCG HC-144 A/B and HC-27J.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDocuments maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirementsMaintains high state of cleanliness and utilize a clean-as-you-go process when executing maintenance dutiesPerforms regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walk-downsMaintains situational awareness and mitigate risksComplies with processes and procedures as per DHS/Department of Defense (DoD) documents and publicationsMaintains and controls tools. Reports missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the site supervisor immediately upon discoveryInventories and inspects tools IAW ALC INST 13600.1 on a regular basis and identify when to replace worn or broken toolsCleans work area as necessary, assuring all flammable or otherwise hazardous materials are properly stored; handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirementsComplies with safety rules and procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work area. Promptly reports accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to the site supervisorUses Government computer system to access various technical references for airframe repairs and Government training requirementsProvides satisfactory customer serviceAssists Aircraft Mechanics or Workers in servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft components. i.e., Removes, cleans, reinstalls or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines, simple structural repairs, wiring harnessesUsing mechanic's tools, removes inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floorboards, and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replaces items when work is completedAssists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling, or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing and hydraulic systems wire harnesses, and aircraft structural sectionsPerforms routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic; lifting and holding materials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipmentCleans aircraft, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutionsMay be required to assist in electrical trade functions such as installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment/systems to include wire harnesses, circuit breakers, complex connectors, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specification, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system; using a variety of electrician tools, and measuring and testing instrumentsMay be required to assist in performing structural trade functions such as installing fasteners or repairing structural components through corrosion control and SRM standard practicesDisconnects instruments, ignition systems, fuel, and oil linesAssists the jacking, towing and refuel/defuel operations of aircraftPerforms other helper duties as required.RequirementsShall be citizen of the U.SHigh School Diploma or equivalent and be enrolled in a continued course of study toward an Aviation Technical School certification or an Aviation trade related degree, or possess an Aviation Technical School certificationAbility to operate power and/or hand tools and equipment such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, micrometers, go-no-go gauges, multimeters, feeler gauges, sheet metal tools, wire crimping devices and tension metersAbility to use mechanic's tools with minimal supervisionAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English fluentlyPossess computer skills to include a basic knowledge sufficient to complete internet searches and prepare/edit documents utilizing word processing or spreadsheet applicationsShall be capable of using cumbersome Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.Physical RequirementsShall be capable of performing tasks that frequently require lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods of timeShall be capable of performing tasks in cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structuresShall be capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds and on heavier items shall seek assistance of other workers or weightlifting devices.BenefitsHealth & Welfare Benefits as covered by the Collective Bargaining AgreementMedical, Dental, Vision InsuranceLife and Accidental AD&D Insurance401K Retirement planGenerous sick and vacation leave based on seniorityFull-time Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:45 am to 3:15 pmPay Rate: $35.18/hr.ICMS is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability or veteran status, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.#J-18808-Ljbffr
