We are currently seeking Aviation Maintenance Technician Assistants to support a Part 145 MRO environment in Miami, FL. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in aviation maintenance while supporting certified technicians and maintenance operations in a fast-paced repair station environment.
Summary
The Aviation Maintenance Technician Assistant supports aircraft maintenance operations by assisting certified mechanics and technicians with inspections, repairs, shop operations, and material handling activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to aviation maintenance practices, FAA repair station operations, and aircraft maintenance workflow processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist certified technicians and mechanics with maintenance, inspections, repairs, and shop operations
Support cleaning, preparation, disassembly, assembly, and movement of aircraft components and materials
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tooling, and equipment
Follow company quality, FAA, OSHA, and safety procedures at all times
Assist with parts handling, inventory support, and shipping/receiving activities as needed
Learn proper maintenance practices, documentation procedures, and repair station workflow processes
Support operational efficiency and turnaround objectives while maintaining quality standards
Maintain professional conduct and dependable attendance
Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
High School diploma or GED required.
Strong willingness to learn aviation maintenance practices and FAA repair station operations required
Ability to safely utilize basic hand tools and shop equipment required
Must be authorized to legally work in the United States
Valid driver’s license required
Enrollment in or completion of an aviation maintenance training program preferred.
Previous aviation, automotive, industrial, or mechanical experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Familiarity with OSHA safety procedures and PPE requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain airport security/SIDA access if required
Ability to communicate effectively in English in a professional aviation environment
Basic knowledge of aircraft tools, hardware, and maintenance terminology preferred
Conversational Spanish proficiency preferred
Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, or crawl in a maintenance environment
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical work in a shop or hangar environment
Ability to successfully pass FAA/DOT-required drug and alcohol screening requirements for safety-sensitive positions
