The primary purpose of this position Air Traffic Control Specialist GS-2152-12 is to provide navigational and related operational data in support of Air Force Materiel Command AFMC Terminal Instrument Procedures TERPS and mission requirements.

Duties
-Develop Terminal Instrument Procedures TERPS and other assigned programs for AFMC USSF and Tenant units in accordance with applicable United States DoD and USAF instrument procedure criteria. -Evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of terminal and enroute procedures. -Interpret policy and direct implementation. -Determine whether an equivalent level of safety is maintained to support instrument procedure criterial waivers. -Use manual construction procedures and Air Force Terminal Instrument Procedures TERPS instrument procedure automation system to accomplish a full range of instrument flight procedure functions.

Must possess valid Control Tower Operator CTO certification and obtainmaintain currency of the same. Please provide a copy of certification with application. Vision acuity must be correctable to 2020. Incumbent may be required to deploy in support of world wide contingencies Air Expeditionary Force AEF requirement and other temporary duty necessities in support of the mission. Qualifications
In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management OPM Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Individual Occupational Requirement IOR 2152 - Air Traffic Control Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Applicants must have or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given them the particular knowledge skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable one year of the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 pay band or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as the ability to provide technical expertise in all assignments involving Air Traffic Control ATC Terminal Instrument Procedures TERPS and Airfield Management AM oversight evaluation and compliance.
