Air Intake System Engineer

Our client, a leading automotive engineering organization, is seeking an Air Intake System Engineer to join their team. As an Air Intake System Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting Powertrain and Vehicle Development Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, supplier management capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Air Intake System Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay Range: $32.81/hr.

What’s the Job?

• Design, develop, and validate air intake systems and related components for internal combustion engine and hybrid electrified vehicles.
• Coordinate CAD design, CAE activities, prototyping, and physical testing to meet system, engine, and vehicle performance requirements.
• Lead supplier activities, track development progress, and ensure achievement of engineering milestones and deliverables.
• Develop and support engineering documentation, including DFMEA and DVP&R, to minimize design and validation risks.
• Support assembly plants, quality investigations, process change validations, and value optimization initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program.
• Working knowledge of air intake systems and components, along with general knowledge of CAD design tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to proactively collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lead supplier activities, manage multiple concurrent projects, and work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
